More Photos of the Lake in Ajijic

Almost a full Moon.
The evening commute.

  1. Nice shots. Funny to think it is the same moon I saw last night from my hot tub in drizzly Portland, when the clouds did part. I sent several rather long posts but see they haven't appeared - probably didn't send my correct URL or something.

Yes, let's meet when you're next in town. I will be there probably in February. I'm going to MZT for a couple of weeks to check out rentals, lifestyle, etc., then take the bus to Guad/Ajijic. I like Guadalajara, though too big for me to live in, I think. The hospital there is phenominal, however. As are the people.

Question: I have a little Westie (West Highland Terrier). I know you have Nacho, and it looks like Claire has 2 dogs & still managed to find a killer deal on a rental. Are dogs/pets generally accepted for long term rental stays? (I realize that's a 'general' question...) Also, are you making friends with any Mexicanos? Or are there too many foreigners in Ajijic for them to trust? I guess my question has more to do with: are the Mexicanos rolling their eyes at still more "old lady gringas & their little dogs" arriving?!!

  2. Hi nopogayle, What is your name? Gayle? Chico isn't my dog. He belongs to the landlord. I do all the loving and he does all the paying of Chico's bills. Works out for both of us as he hasn't much time or energy for a dog but he likes to have one around as a watch dog. I don't have many Mexican friends, only because I don't speak enough Spanish to be understood. But the Mexicans here are very friendly. Yes, there are many women here my age with little and big dogs. Lots of dogs here. Come and see for yourself. I am sure you will feel very welcome. Patricia
