Morning thoughts

The big holiday is over and I am still recovering. Almost immediately after all the celebrations, I became sick. Still am sick. For awhile I was afraid I had pneumonia again. Same symptoms. I got out my nebulizer and have been doing steam treatments to try to clear up my lungs. Slowly getting better. Guess I won't have to worry about being carted off to the hospital this time.

Yesterday was hot so I sat in the sun, coughed and read. Today is overcast. It may have rained last night. I don't know. I am learning during this rainy season that whenever there is a hot day, expect rain and cold the next day. So I need to be prepared to take full advantage of the nice days. Not long before the rainy season will be over and the winter people will return.

I don't have anything new to report. Just wanted to check in and try to keep the blog alive. And myself! Back to the nebulizer!

Morning thoughts

Independence Day celebrations are finally over. I was enjoying the quiet yesterday when I noticed that my street was blocked off. Several carnival rides were set up in the street. So no traffic could go down it. No bus rides unless I were to walk up to the carretera. I asked the owner of the local grocery store what was happening. Another celebration! Last night there was a very loud band playing rowdy music in the San Antonio plaza. I don't know when it finally stopped. I woke up at three in the morning and it was still playing. There was garbage, bottles, broken glass in front of my house that I cleaned up just before the garbage truck arrived. They had to make a detour at the corner so the plaza area wasn't going to get a pick up.

I think there may be a parade this morning. I can't keep up with all the holidays and parties here. I wonder how long this one is going to last.

Morning thoughts

Today is Mexican Independence Day. I am on my way to the parade. Tonight is the war of the flowers. I will be there too. Then tomorrow I hope to get to the spa to soak my feet in the hot waters. They hurt from all the walking. Last night were the children's games. They lasted six hours. Six hours of standing and walking and taking photos. I am tired. My feet hurt. But at least I quit worrying that my toes are going to fall off.

My local doctor read the complete blood panel I had taken. He said, " you have the body of a 26 year old". He was really impressed. But I feel eighty six today. My back is the back of an eighty six year old. It was nice hearing that I am not dying, at least not yet. So lots more photos coming are coming on here in the next few days. Happy Independence Day everyone. I am off to the parade. My poor feet!
