The Walking Stick in my Garden

I went out to my garden this morning and thought this was just a stick until I tried brushing it off and it moved by itself... It is the largest one I have ever seen and the only one I have ever seen in my garden. I took photos of it and let it be.

The Fruit Stand

Yesterday I took a ride out to San Juan Cosala with my friend Mimi. We stopped at a fruit stand and I took these photos.

The beautiful pink fruit is called Pitaya, also known as Dragon Fruit. It is white inside with tiny black seeds. Very good.

The scene across the street from the stand. Everything is so green now. It is beautiful here.

Above is Yves' dog. She limps because she was hit by a car once but Yves' says she forgets that she limps when she chases a squirrel.

Morning Thoughts

I just took these photos of Chico and Olive. They are both half asleep. I didn't sleep until three thirty a.m. Sometimes I have sleepless nights but I still wake up early. I hate nights like that. I toss and turn so much that both animals abandon ship and go someplace else to sleep. It is going to be a long day because I have never been able to sleep during the day. I noticed that Ghostbusters is now playing at the local theater. Maybe I will see it this afternoon. I must think of things to do that don't take too much of my limited energy.

I haven't been swimming much lately because of all the people. It is the end of summer vacation and everyone wants to get in a last fun time. So by nine thirty in the morning the pool is so crowded that I have to fight to be able to swim across the pool. Funny how people never pay attention that I am swimming laps. They just stand in front of me. I lose patience so it is better that I stay away until they all go back to school on the 22nd of this month.

I will get on with my day now. I just wanted to check in, say hello, and wish everyone a relaxing Saturday. I know I won't be doing much today. I think the sun is coming out already. It may be a beautiful, sunny day. Wake up Chico! Wake up Olive! Olive, being a cat, sleeps most of the day, no matter what is going on around her. When I start feeling stressed out for any reason, all I have to do is look at my sleeping cat and know that all is well and I need to relax.

Wednesday Morning at Salvador's and the Market

This morning Chico and I walked down to the market. I had breakfast at Salvador's and then two of my friends from Otto's old place stopped by. I sat with them while they ate. It was fun to be with them again. Then Chico and I walked across the street to the nursery. I also put on a photo of the entrance to my street by Telmex. Chico and I both enjoyed the nursery although I bought nothing. Maybe on the next trip....

This is Pancho, my favorite waiter at Salvador's.

Tuesday afternoon in the Ajijic plaza

Lazy dogs.

These last two photos were taken as I walked past Bruno's restaurant. Dog came to the door to great Chico. Chico is no longer allowed inside. Only service dogs can go in.

A Special Morning with Nicks, Dog and Chico

This is a previous photo that I took of Chico riding in the car with my friend Nicks. Dog is in the back. Chico is getting ready to bark at the roof dog one block down the street. They are sworn enemies. Then Dog from the back seat gets into it too.

Above is a photo of Dog barking as we were about four blocks away from Lake Taco. That is his favorite place to go. Dog is so excited that he can't contain himself. Then he gets Chico into barking too.

Nicks and Chico and Dog walking into Lake Taco restaurant.

Yesterday Chico and I went to Lake Taco again with my friend Nicks and his dog named Dog.  It was fun, especially since I hadn't gone with him for over a month. Thank you Nicks for taking us.....
