Mytery Novels and Classical Music in San Blas

I hate to admit this, but I spent almost all day yesterday in my little room, reading a mystery novel and listening to classical guitar music. As luck would have it, I moved right next door to an excellent musician and he sometimes practices for hours at a time. All I have to do is open my door and I have my own private concert. What a treat. Plus, I have discovered the pleasure of reading mystery novels.

I started out for the beach in mid afternoon. I got half way. Stopped at the homemade muffin place and got a hot banana muffin with melted chocolate chips. I turned around and walked home instead of going further down that hot road to the beach. Guess I am getting old. Hate to admit that. Years ago when I was here, running down that street to the beach and down the mile and a half beach and then home again was nothing. I did it twice a day. Now I don't even want to walk there.

Sometimes I think it is nice to just escape from everything into a book and hiding out in a familiar environment. In my room, with my beautiful window, I could be anywhere in the world. It is comfy. One thing nice about spending more time in one place is that some days can be spent like that. Maybe it is just a natural thing, wanting to gather within oneself and find the center again. Then it is more fun to reach out and explore.  Lucky me, to have the music to lull me into a nice afternoon nap..... maybe getting old isn't so bad after all.

  1. SWEET!! I used to sit on my patio and listen to the girl next door practice her piano for hours on end.

  3. HI Karen, Glad you understand. I feel like a slug when I do things like that. Did you see the post on the 6th of Jan. celebrations? P

  4. Hi Steve, Well it isn't like it was before and now my right hip hurts when I walk. So this is another reason I have stopped walking so much. How is yours now? P
