Patricia and Pat, Two Friends Having A Great Day Together
Ajijic Tango, One of the Best Restaurants in Town
A bad photo but this little girl was so cute that I am putting it on anyway. The food at the Tango is delicious. Mostly grilled meats. The place was packed. We went to three other restaurants in town and they were all lightly attended, even though they had live music. This flu scare is still affecting the economy here. Very sad.

California Kitchen in Chapala
Louise and a customer. His dog is the white spot on the floor. Sorry this photo is blurry. It is hard for my camera to take good indoor photos.
The above photo is Louise Drummond and Phil Posner. I am sorry it is all blurry. I took three photos and every one of them was blurry. So this will have to do for now. They are the owners of the California Kitchen restaurant and also friends of mine. If you get into Chapala it is very easy to find, just a few blocks from the plaza. Directions; Go to the American Legion in Chapala, then left on Guerrero then left on Lopez Cotilla, two blocks on the right....address Lopez Cotilla #271A. Phone number is 765 4075. Hours; Monday-Thursday, 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. They are both great cooks. The restaurant is light and cosy. Classical music in the background. Give it a try. Phil also wrote a wonderful cookbook which you can buy there.

Mother and Daughter
This little girl is very lucky. It is obvious that her mother loves her very much. Or maybe this is her grandmother. I just took the photo in passing. I know nothing about them except for the love I see flowing to the little girl. It is the only photo I took today because again I forgot to bring extra batteries....

The Good Life in Ajijic
I haven't been writing much on the blog lately. Mostly putting on photos. But photos tell stories, sometimes better than words. I am going swimming again this morning. I love the pool at the park in Chapala. It hasn't been raining lately. It is hot in the afternoons, cool in the mornings. I may have another housesitting position for two weeks in July. I will talk with the woman about it on Tuesday. She has a pool where she lives so that will be nice.
Nothing much new in my life except for discovering the pool. It takes up most of my day by the time I take the bus into Chapala and walk to the park, swim and walk back into town, take the bus to Ajijic and walk home. Needless to say, I am getting a lot of exercise. So much exercise that by the time I get home I don't want to go out again. I bought thirty DVD's at a yard sale a couple of months ago so I usually put one on in the evening.
My new refrigerator is full of fresh fruits and veggies, steak and free range chicken. All chicken here is free range. I have home made yogart and berries, watermelon. I could go on and on about the wealth of things in my frig but I won't bore you with that. Just say, I feel wealthy here with all the good food I can eat and a beautiful pool and long sunny days. My life is my own. I can do whatever I wish. I guess that is enough writing for today. I am off to the pool.

School is Out for the First Session.
The ice cream man. An after school treat.
There is a morning session and an afternoon session. The afternoon kids don't get out of school until six in the evening. Notice, they are wearing uniforms.
The above photo is a little girl, all dressed up. I couldn't get a good photo of her because my camera many times goes black. I missed her and only got a little bit as she was walking past me. But I love her outfit.
Christiana Park, Pool and Tennis Courts in Chapala
The pool is so large that I had to swim from side to side instead of lengthwise. I was getting too tired swimming it lengthwise. I love this pool. I have been there two days in a row and I was the only one in it. I am going to try to get there every morning. I am in heaven. I have found the only missing piece of my life down here.
The Sunrise Restaurant in San Antonio
The kitchen. It faces the courtyard and you can watch your breakfast being cooked. The food was good and I was served quickly. The waiter was friendly. I like this place. There are beautiful paintings on the walls. I photographed them but they didn't come out. Sometimes strolling musicians come in and sing and play while people are eating. This is my first visit but I will go again. It is clean and light. Food is reasonably priced and good. It is in San Antonio close to the huge OXXO sign....
Breakfast at the Sunrise Restaurant in San Antonio. I like the table setting. Real flowers. The two eggs, hash browns, toast, beans cost 30 pesos, less than three dollars. The salsa is freshly made and delicious. I took a photo of the breakfast too but it didn't come out. Now I notice an ashtray on the table. Funny I missed it while I was eating. No one was smoking while I was there. But if they allow smoking, I probably wouldn't eat there. I have a hard time eating around the smell of smoke. I am picky like that.

Swimming Pools and Mechanical Toys
The children above wanted to ride on the mechanical cars. I paid for their rides, two pesos a ride, and they were so happy. I wanted to take photos of their smiles but unfortunately my camera batteries went dead. I forgot to put extra ones in my little purse. A lost photo op.....
There is a very large blank wall on the way into Chapala from Ajijic. One mural is now going up and I bet there will be more plus all the graffiti.
Above is the thermal pool.
Above is the larger swimming pool. It isn't heated but the temperature is fine now. Perfect for swimming. You can use both pools here for the day if you pay 90 pesos. Today I was the only one around.
The seven above photos were taken at the MonteCarlo hotel in Chapala. The grounds are beautiful. I didn't check out the prices but their web address is http://www.hoteles.udg.mx/ Phone 01376 76 52120
My friend is coming to visit me at the end of the week so I went looking for a pool were we could swim. I found two at the Hotel MonteCarlo but then I went on the the public pool in the park in Chapala. I had been in it once in the winter and it was too cold. Today it was perfect. No batteries in my camera but tomorrow I will take photos. It is a beautiful pool and I was the only one swimming..... When I left for town I realized I forgot my money. I only had four dollars with me. With this amount of money I paid for my bus trip to Chapala and back, the pool entrance fee, and a great sandwich, plus the mechanical rides for the children. I love Mexico.
