Do you remember about PLAYING? I had forgotten all about that until I watched these children having so much fun playing. I think they were showing off for the camera a little bit but that was okay with me. I was thinking of my own childhood and all of my friends. I remembered asking my mother, Mama can I go out and Play? That was the center of my world and what a disappointment when she said no.
Playing? Good question. I also wonder about fun. Ha Ha wow good time fun. I really enjoy things and am very happy where I'm at, in my head and where I live. But sometimes I wonder when the last time I had that OMG kind of fun.
Hi Kim, Thank you for your comment. Do children still play in the States? Sometimes I think that the fewer man made distractions, the better off the children are because they use their own creativity. Patricia
Kids seem to stay inside alot more than when we were kids. I think parents think it may be safer. Neighbors don't know each other anymore. Mom's work outside the home, kids are in daycare. When I was young, most moms were at home and they would get together and coffee, or picnic and us kids did play and get dirty. I agree with you about the man made distractions, they don't create. They wouldn't have a clue what to do with a stick and a can. They'd complain they didn't have a hockey stick and a ball. And way too much computer, video games and TV.
HI Kim, Thank you for writing again. Looking at the photos, I see so much physical contact between the children. I remember doing the same thing. I think that is good. It is a real loss for children when they don't have that. It connects them more to each other and to their own physical selves, to their limits and their strength. Patricia
