Have you ever considered retiring in Mexico? Have you wondered about daily living in a foreign country where you don't speak the language? What about hotels, hospitals, doctors, restaurants, banks, real estate and cultural activities? This is a diary of my daily life in Lake Chapala and other areas of Mexico. I don't speak Spanish. I am a single retired woman. I hope this blog will give you an idea of what to expect if you decide to make the move.

Sunset
Another sunset. The ending of another beautiful day here in Ajijic. Tomorrow I am moving to a different casita to dog sit. I will be there for three weeks. There is no internet connection there so I don't know how often I will be getting online. I am leaving my computer in my casita. I will ride my bike over once a day to check on things. I have gotten addicted to the computer. It is like having a second mind that can instantly connect to the minds of people all over the world. Don't know how I am going to get along without it.
3 weeks? I am addicted to your posts...please...please...don't stay away that long. Inquiring minds want to know where in Ajijic will you be House/Dog sitting. Maybe I can help you find a wireless signal to hook up to. I have friends in Villa Nova & Rancho Del Oro if you need to log on from your lap top.
HI Peter, WOW thank you for your interest. I didn't know my blog was that important to people. That means a lot to me. I am keeping my computer at my casita and I have a bike to go back and forth so I can still get online. I will still be putting things on my blog. Again, thank you.... Patricia
Pat - I'm returning to Ajijic in September and plan on staying for a couple of months. I'm hoping to find someone who either wants to do a houseswap or needs a housesitter.
I am a single woman, 62, retiring in August, live in Austin, South-Central part of town. I have a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2 story, 1-car garage, near the pool, pet-friendly, townhome, and close to downtown. It has a large kitchen, covered patio, high-speed internet, typical funky-Austin kind of place. Nothing fancy, but comfortable and convenient.
I you know anyone interested in swapping or is looking for a housesitter for September and/or October, ask them to email me at lkarelee@gmail.com.
