Have you ever considered retiring in Mexico? Have you wondered about daily living in a foreign country where you don't speak the language? What about hotels, hospitals, doctors, restaurants, banks, real estate and cultural activities? This is a diary of my daily life in Lake Chapala and other areas of Mexico. I don't speak Spanish. I am a single retired woman. I hope this blog will give you an idea of what to expect if you decide to make the move.

The malecon looks like such a great place to walk and relax and observe. When we stayed at La Nueva Posada (love their food!) Xmas '08 we missed having somewhere surefooted near the lake to walk. Does it run in front of Nueva Posada or where does it run from/to? We are hopeing to get to Ajijic by the end of the year and look forwarding to meeting you and thanking you in person for your great pictures. Sylvie
Hi Sylvie, Thank you for writing. I hope to meet you when you come back. The walkway starts at the wharf and goes west. It is twice as long as it was a few months ago. It is really beautiful but it doesn't run in the direction of La Nueva Posada. Patricia
