Have you ever considered retiring in Mexico? Have you wondered about daily living in a foreign country where you don't speak the language? What about hotels, hospitals, doctors, restaurants, banks, real estate and cultural activities? This is a diary of my daily life in Lake Chapala and other areas of Mexico. I don't speak Spanish. I am a single retired woman. I hope this blog will give you an idea of what to expect if you decide to make the move.

Sunset
Another day comes to an end. My son asked me what I have been doing down here. I called him with my skype phone. I said; eating out, walking around town with Chico, sitting by the lake and taking photos of the sunsets, hanging out at the Lake Chapala Society. He is up in Portland working and remodeling his house. I wouldn't want to change places with him. I like this simple life. I would like to believe that I deserve this time of relaxation. We all deserve a peaceful life.
Pat, I so agree with you! I am so stressed and exhausted right now; selling my house, seeing my business go down every month:( But my family is great and so are my cats and I still find things to laugh about everyday. I look forward to your pics everyday, they lift me up. Sylvia
Hi Sylvia, Thank you for reading my blog and for writing to me. I am glad you are enjoying my photos. I hope your house sells soon. I hope my mobile home sells. I understand the stress you are feeling. Patricia
Hi Ginger, Thank you for commenting. I think many people feel like you do about the hard times these days. I just read a book about the great depression. Seems we are getting close to that now. Patriia

ReplyDeleteDitto to all the above. Scary times that I thought I'd never see at this stage of my life.
