I had to go to the market today. I thought I would find an umbrella for sale there. I went with a very large black plastic bag over my head as my makeshift umbrella. No umbrellas were for sale in the market. I ran met another woman, also using a black plastic bag to keep off the rain. She was more creative. She had cut a hole in the top of the bag for her head and was using it as a raincoat. I complimented her on her sense of style.
It was good to get out of my little casita even though I came home very wet. I bought some videos and a book. I didn't take any photos because I didn't want my camera to get wet. I had a delicious lunch at the Boston Deli. Gigi loaded up my plate and then insisted that I take home extra food for this evening. I don't know what I would do without Gigi. It gave me such a lift to be around her and to have one of her meals. Her restaurant is my home away from home.
Just wanted to let you know I enjoy reading your blog. I'll be a retired single woman moving to your area soon. I'm sure my dog, Lilli would be great friends with your pet. Keep up the good work relating your experiences!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I appreciate your comments and please contact me when you know the dates of your arrival. Let's get together. My friend Clare has a dog with the same name as your dog. She has two dogs. We can have some dog parties. Patricia
ReplyDeleteI am a practicing physician in New Jersey and came upon your blog accidentally. I enjoy looking at your pictures. I studied in Mexico many years ago and my wife is mexican, and although, I'm not retiring anytime soon, I may just buy a little casita near Chapala after reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog and for writing to me. Sounds exciting. When you come down please contact me. I will show you around. And after you buy, if you will need a house sitter, please keep me in mind. Patricia
ReplyDeleteI'm the first anonymous (my name is Ginger.) I'm currently selling my place here in the Virgin Islands so if & when it sells I'll be down there. I know a couple there & visited in November. Will be sure to let you know when I get there. My 10 lb dog LOVES other dogs & I hope to adopt a pal for her when I get situated.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work on this blog. Would be interested also in more prices of things like the grocery & the tab for your meals out. Thanks!
Hi Ginger, Thank you for writing again and giving me your name. Yes, we can have some dog parties when you arrive. Much further back on my blog I have food prices and restaurant prices....Maybe those posts will help. Good luck with your home sale. I would imagine it to be easier than trying to sell in my home town. No one wants to live in Red Bluff. I have been to the Virgin Islands and I remember high prices. That was also many years ago. You will be very pleased at the prices here. You will be able to live like a Queen here for the same amount of money as you are using there. Patricia
