Have you ever considered retiring in Mexico? Have you wondered about daily living in a foreign country where you don't speak the language? What about hotels, hospitals, doctors, restaurants, banks, real estate and cultural activities? This is a diary of my daily life in Lake Chapala and other areas of Mexico. I don't speak Spanish. I am a single retired woman. I hope this blog will give you an idea of what to expect if you decide to make the move.

Hi Pat, Nice little horse, way to thin, do they ride him? Interesting piece on poverty, that is one thing that I will have to get used to seeing in Mexico, but I asked Billy are you poor if you don't know you are poor?? I think the Mexican people are happy even when they are poor, they don't have the mentality of always wanting more, like we do here, right now we are without health care one of the 47 million Americans that don't have it, and I pray that nothing big happens to us too. I hope they pass the health care bill and soon. Cheryl
Hi Cheryl. Good to hear from you. Yes, I think they ride that horse. I think poor people know they are poor, especially since they have to mostly work for the rich Americans. But you are right about poverty of the spirit. That is another issue entirely. I think some wealthy people can have much more poverty in their spirits than some economically poor people. Thank you Cheryl for writing. Hope your place sells soon. I am looking forward to seeing your smiling face around here. Patricia
