Crime in the Lakeside Area

Dear Friends,

It is time to call for ACTION.  YOUR ACTION.  Nothing else is happening.  Apparently it is okay to brutulize a women in the dead of night with a gun to her head and scissors to her fingers, apparantely it is okay to awaken you or your neighbor with a gun to your temple, drag you up and downstairs, tie you up, threaten to murder you and then steal everything in your home.

Apparently it is okay during broad daylight on one of the best streets in the Village in shoot and kill you in your garage as you are unpacking your groceries.  It is also apparently perfectly normal and acceptable to assault an elderly women and try to steal her car to get away from a murdered man you left lying in his garage......

All of this and so much more that I am not writing has happened in the last two weeks to Americans and Canadians and NOTHING has happened.  Just more paper has has pushed from one desk to another.  Our beautiful adopted home town is being ruined.  Our businesses are being destroyed as each crime occurs and nothing changes. 

WE ARE the ONLY ones that can make change happen.  US.  Please join me for 'A CITIZENS PROTEST' against this lack of police protection and follow up at the Chapala Municipal Building TOMORROW, Thursday, Dec 1st. at NOON.  Make signs, bring a megaphone.  Make flyers.  Do whatever it is you might have done when you were 19 and fighting for your cause at the grassroots level.  This is no different.  ONLY OUR ACTIONS can make anything change.

PLEASE JOIN ME and send this EMAIL TO EVERYONE on your list that you think CARES about what is happening and ask them to send it to their friends.  LET'S SHOW THEM WE ARE SERIOUS about this. 

What do you think would happen if 500 or more of us storm city hall?  Honestly, I don't know if ANYTHING will happen.....but we MUST TRY.  We must not just stand by and let this happen. 

Remember Allen.  Remember the couple who were bound and gagged and left for dead.  Remember the couple in Rancho del Oro not long ago.  Remember the many couples in Mirasol and Riberas.  Remember Beth.  Remember Rob.  Remember Mr. Kahr.  Think about you and your own safety.  WE MUST MAKE DEMANDS and we MUST SHOW FORCE in NUMBERS.

I JUST RECEIVED THIS E MAIL TODAY. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING DOWN IN THE LAKESIDE AREA RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I AM IN PORTLAND, OR. BUT I DID GET AN E MAIL ABOUT THE RECENT MURDER OF AN EXPAT IN THE AFTERNOON.   THIS HAS REALLY UPSET ME. YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE BEEN VERY CONCERNED EVERY SINCE I WAS ROBBED... I AM POSTING THIS E MAIL IN HOPES THAT ANYONE WHO READS IT WHO IS IN THAT AREA NOW WILL JOIN IN THIS GATHERING.
