My son and daughter-in-law returned last night with their suitcases filled with gifts for all their friends. They had perfumes, spices, teas, clothing, carved statues and many other beautiful and exotic things. Made me think of what it must have been like when the ships returned from there, bringing similar things, the smells, tastes and sights of foreign lands. But mostly, I am grateful that they made it back home safely and in good health.
