Thank you for writing Haidi, I think I already answered this in an e mail. But just in case, Try Beto's motel in downtown Ajijic. That is the cheapest place I know of here. Or look under my favorites at Ajijic Rentals. There is one but it is a little more expensive. P
There is something eerie about the juxtaposition of the dogs and the butcher. Maybe the old ways are still practiced up by your lake.
