Chico, waiting in my lap for his morning walk

Every morning my friend comes over with her dog for a walk with me and Chico. Chico has an excellent sense of time, along with all his other great senses. About ten minutes before walk time, which is eight thirty, he jumps onto my lap while I am on the computer. He will sit there and listen for them. I think he must hear them shut their gate which is a block and a half away because he will go out to our gate before they are even in sight. Both our dogs LOVE their morning walks. Check out Chico's ears. Like some kind of sound radar. He is so funny. I love him and am grateful for his presence in my life. No matter how many problems I am having with the people in my life, Chico is always there for me. Can't beat that.

  1. Hi Pat,
I have been following your blog for about 3 months now. You have convinced me to come down from NOB and check out paradise. My main question right now is, it very easy to find rental homes for year around renting? I would want to move every year to a different rental.
    Thanks, Landon

  2. Hi Patricia,

I just want to say I check your blog every day, and always enjoy what you have to say, or to show me. And, don't let those periods of low feelings get you down too much. I think middle age, and late middle age, involve a lot of wised-up thinking, and a lot of that involves effort, and isn't a bundle of fun as we think things through. I live out in Pendleton, about three and a half hours from Portland, and would love to meet you during your next visit.

    1. Hi Lynn, I appreciate you reading my blog and writing to me. That is very important in my life. Yes, thinking too much. I spend too much time alone. I have always been that way and sometimes it backfires on me. Too much thinking about too many things, especially the past. P

  4. Hi Patricia,
The students will love reading about Chico. My own dogs can tell when it's 6:30 and time for their walk. If I'm on the computer, there is no peace until I take them!

    1. Thank you for writing. Check out the article I wrote on Accesslakechapala.com about the 16th of Sept. parade. It was mostly a parade of children. I also wrote one about the rodeo that will be posted soon if it isn't already. I think the students would like those two articles. P

    2. Hola, Senora Walker!
We are in 3rd grade and liked reading about Chico and seeing all the great food they have in Mexico. We ran out of time and didn't get to see the 16th of Sept. parade, but hopefully we can look at that later! Next time we will think of questions to ask you about Mexico.
      Muchas gracias,
      Mrs. H's 3rd grade

  5. Hey Patricia,
My fifth grade class just checked out the Sept. 16 pics. They loved them, and it was great for me to show how students in Mexico wear uniforms, having them figure out that "esc." is aa abbreviation for "escuela" etc...Also they loved the horse pics. Thanks again.
