Late Afternoon Walk in Lower La Floresta

After a very busy day, my friends walked home with me to my casita.  Although I loved being in the crowd at the plaza, it was nice to be walking along the quiet streets when all we heard were the birds singing. There were sweet smells coming from the flowers all around us. And of course it was a treat for me just to be able to walk these streets again. I feel so lucky to be living here and to have good friends to share things with me.

    thanks for the good wishes. i think i need one more day at home before going back to work. it's just too hard dealing with a class full of kids when i feel so lousy.

    now i see-jacaranda! even the name has a nice ring to it. i love those trees. wonder if we could grow them in the nw. i'll have to read up on them.

    no problem about deleting my message, at least you got to read it first.

    no such luck. it only grows in tropical climates.

    Hi Teresa, This time I was VERY careful with your comment. Yes, those are my favorite trees too. But as I said, some people are extremely allergic to the flowers. I know two people who have to leave town when they are in full bloom. I was a substitute teacher. Could only manage doing it three times. For the next two years I wouldn't answer the phone in the mornings. Finally had to admit that the job wasn't for me. The six grade girls did me in.... But teaching is really hard. I have a lot of respect for you.... Patricia

    Hi Teresa, I just finished reading a book about Pakistan. They mentioned those trees growing there. Is Pakistan tropical? I thought there were deserts there. Patricia
