La Cocinita Restaurant in San Antonio

Hand made tortillas. Delicious.
I just discovered La Cocinita Restaurant. It is down the street from El Parque where I am now housesitting. I am going to be eating there often. I think it is family owned and operated. They are very friendly. The place is spotless. The food is delicious and inexpensive. Almost everything is forty pesos or less. It is open from seven in the morning until five in the evening. It is closed on Sundays. I love this restaurant.

  1. I so agree with this. This was the best food we had when we were in the San Antonio area. Jesus and Teresa are great people too. Say hi from us.

  2. Thank you Jen and Greg for telling me about the restaurant. I will tell Jesus and Teresa what you said. I told them today that I put their photos on the blog and talked it up...Very nice people. It is a real treasure for me to have this place so close to where I am living now. Patricia

  3. Patricia,
I think I have read your entire blog. My husband and I are just retired and want to start traveling. We are both 52 years old. I ran across your blog while researching travels in Mexico. You made us want to see Lake Chapala for ourselves. We will be traveling down there from Arizona on Nov 1 2009, we will be there for seven weeks. We must be home with our grandchildren for Christmas! I hope we run into you along the way. We will be staying in Birds of Paradise are in Ajijic.

Muchas gracias por los cuadros y las historias.

  5. Hi Pat, unfortunately we were unable to meet you this time around. We kept pretty busy while we were there. Who knows we may have even passed each other on the streets. We walked down the road everyday where La Cocinita resides. We had several meals there and they were all good. As you said the place was clean and the owners were very nice.
