HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

There was a lot of noise last night; parties, music, fireworks. I stayed awake until two a.m. I kept thinking I would get up and walk into town to see all the action but I didn't do it. I just enjoyed standing in my yard, looking at the stars and listening to the music all around me. Guess this is a sign of getting old. I am content with simple pleasures these days. I have also gotten into the habit of waking up early to the sounds of the birds waking up and then in the evenings, sitting in my yard and listening to them getting ready for bed in the trees. I love these times. Even ten years ago, I would have laughed at myself for being happy with doing no more than bird listening. Getting older changes us.

I said a little prayer this morning in thanks that I am so lucky to be living here and my health is holding up enough to let me live alone.  And I can still walk these cobblestone streets and swim at my friend's house several times a week. Life is good for me at the moment. If you are reading this, I wish the same joys in your life too. Happy Easter.

  1. Happy Easter to you too and good health and a few laughs along the way. I too love to listen to the birds and watch them at my feeders. I had Mom and Pop cardinals and lots of chickadees and a wood pecker today at the feeders. Peace and quiet, trees , birds and a good book - it there anything else. :)

  2. "Hoppy" Easter, Patricia! We are enjoying gorgeous weather here, in the 70's, not a cloud in the sky. Everything is blooming, too! I don't know about being "old" and liking to listen to the birds. I have enjoyed doing that for years and years!

    1. Hi Karen, Thank you for commenting. I guess I was always in too much of a hurry when I was younger to stop and smell the roses or listen to the birds singing. I must be growing up, FINALLY.... Thanks for the Easter wish. Same to you. Patricia
