Morning Thoughts

It is an overcast, quiet Sunday morning. I have no plans for the day. I will probably take Chico for a long walk. Maybe have breakfast at Salvador's. I just walked outside and there is a very light drizzle. Maybe it is going to rain. Hard to tell. I must take my umbrella.

News about the American flag at the Lake Chapala Society. As soon as I posted the photo of it on my blog, all torn up and threadbare, one of my readers, Harold Oldham, wrote to me about it. He said to contact the American Legion. I sent them a photo of it. Immediately I got a message back from Vince Britton saying he will replace it and take the old one and destroy it. He is going to contact LCS and do that. I think he was shocked at the condition of it. He wrote, Don't ever let it get like that again.  I will take a photo of the new flag when it is up. He may even replace the Mexican flag. Don't know about the Canadian one. We will see.

I am swimming as often as I can during the week. I try to get in eighty laps. Almost twice what I swam for years. It is all in the mind. Belief is the first step to doing something. People often write to me expressing their fears that they won't be able to move here. I tell them, first step is to believe that you can do it.  Everything else will follow.

I will take my camera on my walk today. Maybe take more photos of the plaza. I read that Colon is going to be blocked off this afternoon for some sort of celebration. I can't keep up with all the celebrations here. Maybe the sun will be out by then.

My garden loves this weather.

  1. So lovely to have your own garden. I walk to a botanical garden that is nearby, but it is great that you have your own space.
How is your knee feeling? Do you feel better after swimming?
