I Am Back Online

My computer has been in the repair shop for almost a month.... Finally, it is back home and I can write on my blog once again. I missed it and I missed all the comments. My son and his wife were here over the holidays. We all stayed in a hotel in Guadalajara. Then as soon as I returned to Ajijic, I had to move. I am now living closer to town. It has taken me many days to get all my things put away. I am so glad to be away from the isolation of my old place. I hated feeling like I was locked in. I now live in a Mexican neighborhood with lots of activity.  I love it. Saturday night and I can hear people out there having fun, music, laughter, cars. LIFE.....

I do miss the privacy of those two beautiful decks up in the trees. But I also have two decks here. I have views of the lake from all my windows. I have been spending so much time unpacking all my stuff that I haven't even left the house for days, except to get food and my computer.

I am going to quit working on my place tomorrow. Sunday, a day of rest. I am going to take a walk to the plaza with Chico. Of course Chico is living here too and Olive. Olive, the cat, has been hiding under my covers every day and coming out at night to explore. I live in the upstairs and my former landlord lives in the downstairs. I still don't have a kitchen but I am pretty good at making do without one. This is a new life for me and I am excited about the change. I feel like I am living in Mexico now and not some isolated gated community that could be anywhere in the world. All gated communities look the same to me. I prefer to be in the midst of things.

sounds like your new move is a great one. just curious-why did you have to move? it sounds like a c hange for the better, especially since chico is still with you.

  3. Hi Teresa, I spent one winter in Japan. Never again. I couldn't wait to return to Mexico. We all had to move because the landlady decided she didn't want to pay for any more repairs on the house. She is putting it up for sale. It will most likely not sell for a long time. But she did me a favor. I needed to move. Thanks for writing. Good to hear from you again. P

    1. Hi Pam, What a surprise. You always seemed to be on the fence about moving here. How exciting. Now comes the trial by fire, getting rid of stuff. Good luck. See you before long. Your friend, p
