The Old Posada, New Restaurant

The Old Posada has new owners. It is cleaned up and the food is reasonably priced and delicious. This lunch buffet was only 69 pesos. And they let us have our dogs outside. Tammy once tied her horse up outside and had the buffet.

  1. I believe the name for this new restaurant is going to be Maria Isabel. Definitely looks like a nice buffet for the price.

  3. Thanks for commenting. I ate there again today. The buffet was 20 pesos more on Sundays but still worth it. p

  4. "Tennessee Williams lived here in the 1940s and played poker every night at the Old Posada, Ajijic, Mexico, which was a real celebrity hangout in the 50s and 60s, hosting such film stars as Elizabeth Taylor, Charles Bronson, and James Coburn. Those poker nights inspired Williams to write a short story, “The Poker Game,” that became A Streetcar Named Desire, which won a Pulitzer Prize." -James Tipton http://chapala.com/chapala/ojo2007/writers.html

    1. Thank you for that information. I know it is one of the oldest buildings in Ajijic but I didn't know that other stuff. I bet they had a lot of fun. p
