Morning Thoughts

I guess I am getting better since I am too bored to stay home any longer. I have been home since last Wednesday afternoon. These days are now starting to remind me of the three months when I was healing from the broken ankle. I was here for so long that when I went out to see the doctor I felt like someone had slipped LSD into my morning coffee. I was overwhelmed by all the activity out in the world.  I don't want to experience that again. So this morning I am taking a walk to the Lake Chapala Society with Chico. He has gotten very lazy these past few days. My friend and neighbor Leslie has taken him out for his morning walk since I have been sick but the rest of the day he just likes to sleep in my lap. He has been a real comfort to me but he needs to get out into the world again too.

I am finally getting my temporary renewal this morning. It has taken about five months this time. I haven't renewed my IMSS health insurance yet.  That too is taking a long time. Today is a day for taking care of business. I am still sick but even sicker of being in the casita and garden. I guess that means I am getting better.  I want to thank everyone who wrote to me, giving me encouragement to get well. That really helped.

  1. Hey Pat,
Glad you are feeling at least a little better. I got a little chuckle from your post, where you mentions feeling strange "like someone had slipped LDS into my morning coffee". I know you meant LSD, but LDS is funny too-- "Latter Day Saints", i.e. Mormon. Having Mormon slipped into your morning coffee could be pretty surreal too! :-)
Hope you feel all the way better soon.

    1. Hi Jim, Thanks for the laugh. I will change that. Obviously, I am a bit spacy at the moment and not proofreading my work...... P

  2. You are correct. You need to get up and out. Sticking around the house is a great way to sink into self-pity. As we both learned from our respective ankle breaks. Grab life by the throat and give it a good pummeling.

  3. By the way, get rid of the really annoying double layer of comment protection. Either use the screen for approval or the terrible word and number puzzle. But not both. I suggest using the moderation option only. Blogger's eye chart on steroids is so irritating, I am certain a lot of people simply give up trying to post.

    1. HI Steve, I will check into it again. Last time I took off the protection I was getting a lot of spam everyday..... I will see what I can do. Thanks, p

Glad to see you are doing better! Hopefully tomorrow will be even better. Chico always makes me laugh...he finds the softest places to sleep.
