Morning Thoughts--Semana Santa

This week and next week are two of the busiest weeks of the year here, Semana Santa. Easter vacation. Yesterday, I went to the spa and arrived at nine a.m., opening time. It was already full. I have a twenty ticket pass but they won't let me use it for these next two weeks because it is their busiest time of the year.  It was very difficult to do my laps because so many people were in the pool but it was fun. The musicians were playing up a storm. Children were screaming as they flew down the slides. People were having picnics. I saw a few expats but mostly I think they are staying away during these two weeks.

I met up with Loretta and Ray. I also had lunch with them on Monday at the Tango restaurant in Ajijic. It was crowded. Restaurant owners hope to make up for the slow business the rest of the year during these two weeks. Then yesterday, after the spa, I met a lovely couple from the other side of the lake. They have been reading my blog and they took me out to lunch, Ian and Carol. That was a lot of fun for me. I hope to see them again sometime. If you two are reading this, Thank you again.....

This is also the time of year when there are more break ins and purse snatching. Time to keep eyes and ears open for stuff like that. There are lots of parties at night. Families come up here and camp out on the beach. I am guessing that the market will be crowded this morning too. The weather is beautiful now. This area is a wonderful escape for the people living in Guadalajara. Fresh air. Less traffic. I am going to try to look at the positive side of all these people coming into town. Great photo opportunities.

  1. Hello Pat;
    You and most welcome for lunch. We enjoyed meeting you and having the opportunity to thank you for your gave us an opportunity to see through a little window into the world we now call home, even while in our cold Canadian winters.
