Bridge of Sighs
It is hot in the afternoons here now. I have been spending several afternoons just sitting in my casita reading. It is even too hot to sit in my yard. I am reading Bridge of Sighs by Richard Russo. The book is about families and family secrets and what we want to be real vs. what is real. I came across this passage that I think is very thought provoking:
The line of gray along the horizon is brighter now, and with the coming of light I feel a certainty: that there is, despite our wild imaginings, only one life. The ghostly others, no matter how real they seem, no matter how badly we need them, are phantoms. The one life we're left with is sufficient to fill and refill our imperfect hearts with joy, and then to shatter them. And it never, ever lets up.
Blame love.

(This doesn't fit into my quantum physics parallel lives theory but it is probably more realistic.)

Brief Thunder Storms in Ajijic
In the past few days we have had a couple of brief thunder storms with rain. The plants like the rain. I love hearing the thunder. Maybe we are going to have an early rainy season this year.
