Morning Thoughts

It is another Wednesday market day and I am going there from my new place. I have been taking taxis home every since I moved here because those three blocks uphill seemed to be too much for me. Moving has exhausted me. My entire body aches from moving all the furniture and boxes and boxes of stuff. I have too much stuff. But where to begin to get rid of it? Before I moved I took bags of clothing to the consignment store and boxes of videos to another consignment store. All this makes me think of George Carlin's rift on Stuff. Very funny. But not so funny when you have to cart it around.  I hope I don't have to move again for a long time.

I love the weather this time of year. Not hot, not cold, and no humidity. I have been seeing spectacular sunrises and sunsets from my decks. The only thing I miss is all the trees that were at my old place. It was like living in a tree house. But I don't miss the rats that ran around on my roof or the termites that were eating the ceiling above my bed. I didn't know how many creatures I was sharing my outdoor kitchen with until I moved everything out. Maybe I got that out of my system. I am appreciating having things clean. When the rainy season comes around again, I won't have to worry about getting electrocuted or slipping on a wet patio. There are many advantages of having an indoor kitchen.

I am also glad to have my computer back and working. I missed doing the blog. I missed people commenting. It is such a great connection for me to the world. Most of the time I am a loner. The other day I ran into a woman who met me several years ago from my blog. We went out to lunch together and it was nice to learn about her life and her plans. She even insisted on buying my lunch. It is always a pleasure for me to meet people who read this blog. Makes me realize that I am not just writing into the wind. I also appreciate people being concerned for me when I wasn't posting. I feel like I have an invisible support system, always available to encourage me. Thank you all. It is good to be back.

  1. Enjoying your blog. We are currently living in Ecuador but Mexico is our fallback if things don't work out.
