It is after midnight and the kitty is at my window again. I guess my little casita looks very inviting to her.

Morning Thoughts--Cat Napping
As you can see, the cat is right at home in among all my computer wires. She loves to sleep on my desk while I am writing on my computer. She seems to think that she lives here. Chico has his own thoughts, but keeps them to himself. He just glares at her and shakes if she is near him. He stays in my other room. Good thing that I have TWO rooms. A cat room and a dog room.
It has been raining here for days. I have been stuck in these two rooms. I read everything I could find, even some old books that have been hiding in my bookshelf for years. One was about wild children. You know, children who were raised by wolves or chickens. Chickens? Yes. Apparently, they make good mothers. ( I love this quote. "Nothing separates us so much from the past as our inability to believe in wonders.") From Savage Girls and Wild Boys by Michael Newton, pg. 16, first sentence.
One was an old copy of Nexus by Henry Miller. One was a mystery set in Tibet. I even spent several hours just looking through my cookbooks. Not cooking. Just looking. Finally, yesterday, I had to get out. I walked up with my umbrella to the movie theater and saw Captain Phillips. I was surprised that I enjoyed it. But I probably would have enjoyed watching cartoons, I was so bored in my casita. Captain Phillips got my blood circulating.
When I got back home, I had no electricity. The entire Lower La Floresta had been out since I left for the movie. So I went back to Salvador's and had a meal, coconut shrimp. Delicious. Back home again with my trusty umbrella and we had electricity! That was a nice surprise because sometimes it will be out for days.....
I know a few people who are coming down for their winter vacation, arriving today. So sorry that they have to come in this weather. It probably isn't much nicer than where they came from in the States and Canada. We do have bad weather but not often. That is the saving grace for me. I know it is only temporary. I saw on the weather report that by Wednesday it will be nice, just in time for the Wednesday market......In the meantime, I need to learn how to catnap.

Message from the Lucky Dogs
Dear friends,
I
am sure by now you all know that I volunteer at Lucky Dog Rescue and
Adoption Center in Chapala. With this lingering nasty weather, our pups
and dogs are so cold and desperately need sweaters to keep warm. Please
go thru
your closet and see if you have any old sweaters or sweatshirts that
you no longer need. If you do, you can drop it at my home or the Animal
Shelter in Riberas (be sure to write Lucky Dog on the bag).
You can reach me at 765-2603 (please leave message). Thanks in advance!! Cindy

Market on Christmas Day part 2
Ajijic Weds. Market on Christmas Day part 1
Christmas Present to Myself
I bought this abalone shell necklace at the market as a Christmas present to myself. Tanga inspired me to do that yesterday. She told me that her daughter's family all decided to buy their own Christmas presents. That way, they got exactly what they wanted. They even wrapped their own gifts. Sounds like fun.
