Bire of Paradise

This Bird of Paradise is growing at my doorway. My friend Lamar came by and brought me groceries. We spent the day sitting in the garden and talking. We listened to the humming of the bees and the songs of the birds. The sun was warm on us. I am satisfied with simple pleasures these days. I no longer think of the outside world. I have finally settled into this lifestyle..... This may not be a good thing......

  1. Hi Patricia,

Muchas gracias! Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos. I never really know what a "Bird of Paradise" flower was!

Here in Virgina, the leaves are all gone and it is cold. We may even get snow showers tonight. I'm glad you can enjoy the warmth and the sunshine.

  2. Hi Karen, I hope you have a warm fire. I have one going here tonight. It is chilly in my place at night. Yes, the Bird of Paradise is a beautiful flower. I love the name too. Thanks for continuing to read my blog. I haven't been writing on it much lately. Nothing much to talk about. Patricia

  3. I took a few photos of that, too, while I was there in October. Funny, I considered it "MY" bird of paradise (for photo opportunities)! I also took lots of nice shots of pointsettias - growing wild there like rhododendrons do here in the Pacific Northwest! I'll see if I can find a decent photo & send to you. Tis the season for pointsettias! Take care of you ... Are you getting enough Peanut M&M's!!! Whenever I see them, I now think of you...

  4. Live the moment and enjoy what is happening now. The ankle will take care of itself.

  5. Hi Steve, Thank you. Yes, I do feel better and not so depressed. Each day my ankle is a little bit better than it was the day before. Sounds like the lyrics to a song. Thanks, Patricia

  6. I am assuming the other comment, about the Bird of Paradise, is from Gayle. Hi Gayle. Thanks for writing. I know how you feel about the photos. Sometimes I feel that way too when I see that someone has taken the same photo that I had taken. Maybe there is something to the belief that you steal a person's soul when you take his or her photo. Same with objects. Somehow there is a feeling of possession of that object. Good to hear from you. Your friend, P
