    1. I KNOW, way too much food. three different kinds of cheese,, shrimp, chicken, beef, green onions, white onions, mushrooms. I had it again last night for dinner and still there is a box full of it in the frig. Don't think I can eat any more of it. Chico will have a feast. P

    2. Buenos dias, P
Well, I can see there's no need to cook today...I'll just feast my eyes on your "molcajete special" and dig in. !Que rico!
(By the way, do your friends call you Pat or Patricia?)

I'm up late this morning, delighting in a mug of strong coffee after a sleepless night of howling gusting wind. The sky is blue! Local news predicts a one day rain break. I'd thought to make a dash to town for supplies, only to learn the river is over the highway and a massive mud/rock slide blocking the alternate back road to the coast. Instead, I'll set up an orchard ladder and prune. I see four plum trees in bloom! For the moment, at least. all is right with my world.

Seeing the molcajete in your blog got me thinking how my dearest possessions originated in Mexico and will return with me: embroidered huipiles, a few old and very fine masks from Guerrero, hammocks from Yucatan, plates from Patzcuaro, Oaxacan rugs. Each one to me is irreplaceable. Thus my planned return by minivan. Coals to Newcastle.

I wonder what you'll be doing with your day. You're looking very healthy in your pics, P. It's obvious you are feeling much better. Like others have said, I like your short hair!
      Hasta mas tarde,
      Fay

    3. Hi Fay, Good to hear from you again. Thanks for the compliment. Sounds like awful weather up there. My last living situation was in a mobile home in Red Bluff almost on the Sacramento River and someone just sent me overhead photos of the flooding in Redding. I am so glad I sold that place and moved to Ajijic. Wish I could give you some of this left over molcajete. Thanks for writing. I go by both Pat and Patricia.

  2. We failed to have it in the three months we were there. Epic fail! Next time, it sure looks good.

    1. Hi Shelagh, that was my first experience with it. I only had two small tacos out of it. Left over, not so good. You didn't miss out on much. It looks far better than it tastes. Thanks for commenting. P
