Morning Thoughts

I haven't been on my blog for awhile. I have been sick and also I had a friend visiting. But I have been missing it. Sending thoughts out into the world and people answering me with their own thoughts. The Internet is amazing. How did we ever get along without it? The instant communication! I remember before the Internet and visiting Mexico and no communication at all. Living in a little Mexican seaside village for a few months, not even having a telephone to call my family in the States. But that too can be charming. It forces a person to be more self reliant.

We have had many rainy days. Often by one or two in the afternoon it gets sunny.  Everything is so green and beautiful. My garden is thriving.

The town is quiet most of the time. We still have a lot of traffic on the carretera on weekends. The rainy season has many advantages over the high season. But I don't like so much rain. If I had a car, maybe I would feel differently about it. But it is hard to walk out there in the mud and puddles and not knowing when it will rain again. I don't want to buy a car. That would tempt me too much to stop walking and I need to walk to stay healthy.

One of my friends recently found a beautiful home in the heart of Ajijic, fully furnished with nice furniture, lots of sunlight, quiet, three stories and the rent is only four hundred dollars a month. So it is possible to find inexpensive housing here. It just takes time and lots of looking. I am happy for her that she found a home that she loves here. This is the best time of the year to look for housing. By October things will start filing up again and cheap places to stay will be gone.

I am glad to be feeling well again.  I don't have much to write about since I have spent so many days in my house. Just wanted to say hello......

For some reason Olive slept outside on the table last night, even in the rain. I guess she didn't want to leave the garden. I keep my back door open at night so Olive and Chico can come and go. Chico sometimes still chooses to pee in my bathroom instead of out in the rain. Bad Dog! Bad me for forgetting to close the bathroom door!

  1. I have not been a viewer for long. Can I ask , "what are the sheets of vinyl for, on the patio?" It may not be vinyl but it appears to me that it is. I am enjoying your blog. I missed you for several days. It has been several years, but we used to come to the Lakeside area at least once a year and miss it. Thanks

  2. Thank you for commenting and for reading my blog. I don't know what you are wondering about in the photos. No sheets of vinyl are on the patio. If you are asking about the grey thing hanging over the washing area, that is an old car cover that I put up to keep the rain away from the washing machine. P

  3. I see what the grey thing is. It is in the background but appeared to be hung on the back of the patio door .

    1. There are screens on the patio door. Nothing else. Sorry. I still don't know what you mean. Maybe the short curtain in front? That is to keep the rain out of my room because there is no glass on the door. P

    2. Your garden looks lovely and private, so nice to have an outdoor space where the animals can go in and out, and in and out, and in and out, and you don't have to open the door or worry about them wandering off.

  4. Hi Jane, Thank you. I enjoy the garden. Spent half my day there with the animals. Nice that I feel safe enough to be able to leave the door open all the time. I am very lucky to have this home. P
