Considering all the money I have paid into IMSS and never used it, I am going to let it drop and sign up for Seguro Popular instead. I have always been afraid to try to use IMSS because of the stories I have heard about people paying on it for years and when they tried to use it, they were kicked off. What a waste of money.
Many people have written about their experiences with SP. Most of them are happy with it. It doesn't cost to sign up. And another good thing, I can actually USE IT. I can go to their clinic. I can get my thyroid meds for free. And I can go to their hospital in an emergency. But I would still appreciate any feedback if you have had experiences with either system. I have another month or two to think about this. One more good thing about SP. When you sign up for it, you are on it for three years.....Then all you have to do is renew it. At NO cost.
I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions about living in Mexico compared to living in America! While living in Mexico do you think the strong cultural ties to the past play a big role? Do most Mexican people enjoy learning about their history? Do the native people have as much pride about their country as Americans? Is the culture of Mexico very different from America?
ReplyDeleteHI Sam, Those are a lot of questions and very deep ones. I don't have answers for them. Mexico has a great heritage. I don't know if most Mexicans enjoy learning about their history. The children seem to love dressing up like their heroes in parades. Yes the culture in Mexico is very different from America. Thanks for commenting. p
