Morning Thoughts ---My new place

Here is my new place. I didn't photograph the bathroom. It is very small and not much to look at. And I didn't photograph the shower either. It is outside on another very private deck where I can also watch the sunsets. But it is not interesting enough to photograph.

I have been working hard to get everything up the stairs and tucked away in this very small space. Just one room. I am used to having two rooms. I had to give away some of my favorite paintings. But sacrifices are always necessary when there is a new life in the making.

Also, I am trying to get it waterproofed before the rains come. They are bringing up my frig and it will be out on the deck. That is a big concern. I have to make some plastic removable covers for the sides of the deck so the rains won't come inside. I had forgotten that this upstairs room leaks. They put on a new roof but I am not sure if it will keep the rain out or not. If not, I may be moving again.

I am just glad to be up in the trees with a view of the lake. I have always wanted to cook outside. So now I am. My little casita is for rent. Only long term. Very inexpensive. I lived there for I think it was eight years. Let me know if you are interested.

This moving, just to another part of the yard, has made me feel very insecure. And exhausted. Moving is hard work. Especially if you are a collector, like me. But I am feeling better now that it is almost done. I am crossing my fingers that the rains will not destroy all of my hard work and force me to move again.

  1. I see a cat in your bed. Is Chico still around?

  2. I think it will especially be wonderful when it's midwinter and the sun is streaming in, heating up your place. Your kitchen area looks very nice. Add a few potted plants and it will be gorgeous. JackB

  3. What gorgeous views and what a beautiful setting in the trees. Congrats on that. I could sit and stare catatonic for hours in a surrounding like that. Especially when assisted by a malted beverage, an agave extract-based libation, or some fermented grape juice. :-)
