Morning Thoughts--hugs and kisses

Yesterday in the market I had an encounter with a woman who has been reading my blog for several years and her husband. Her name is Ingrad. She stopped me and said, "You are Patricia Walker, right? You don't know me but I know you! I have been reading your blog for years."

Her husband said, "Every morning when she gets up, that is the first thing she does."

She gave me a warm hug and kiss and her husband kissed my hand. She talked with me about things I had written a couple of years ago. She said that my blog inspired her in her own life.

I can't describe how wonderful this encounter made me feel! Sometimes I feel so alone and discouraged, especially lately with so many difficult things happening at once in my life. And at that one point I was so discouraged I was going to quit writing on the blog. Things are better now. But having Ingrad stop me and say those things to me and hug me really gave me a boost.  That is my reward for all this time spent writing the blog.... Thank you so much Ingrad.

  1. Hi Pat:
There are many people who read your blog daily and get inspiration for your ability to flow with the ups and downs thrown your way. You are tenacious to the end :) P.

    1. Thank you so much. I appreciate your encouragement. Sometimes I am like a pit bull. Or the little engine that could. And sometimes that is to my disadvantage. I never know when to quit. p

  2. Hi, Patricia:
If you had the count, I think you would be quite surprised at the number of people who check in on you every day and wish you well in your trials - and triumphs! Many people send you hugs across the miles for your strength and outlook on life. It was lovely that one of them stopped you in person to let you know. Take care.

  3. Hi Patricia
I read your blog everyday-I"m coming home. Have been in SMA for 16 months but could get my Ajijic fix from your blog. You need to get Cheryl blogging again! Hope to meet you. Thanks for the great pics of home.

  4. I too read your blog every time it's posted...in fact if I don't get an email saying a new post is available I go directly to your blog and see if it's there before the email alert! Yeah I got it bad for your blog Pat! Keep on keeping on.
At my age I am looking to retire in less than 10 years and though your eyes/words Lake Chapala is on my short list.
I'd like to see you do a posting on other places you might want to live but from what I gather Lake Chapala has something magical about it.

  5. Pat I've been one that reads your blog daily but stopped checking since last month because you stopped writing for awhile. I just want you to know how much I missed seeing your posts, it was a big void for me. As you know I'm planning on coming to check out the area when it gets closer to the date I'm looking to retire. Mexico is definitely where I keep being drawn to, no other place has what it has to offer, there are other great places out there but Lake Chapala has what I want given location to the US, the large expat community, the cost of living and the climate all are major factors in my draw to it. Your blogs help me to stay focused on this goal and inspire me to continue with making plans. So thank you for coming back on to posting! I'm so happy for you that life is getting better!
