Evening Thoughts

This evening I received a nasty comment about my complaints of the fence that has been making my life and the lives of many others here so difficult.   The person is a member of La Floresta Association and seems to believe that cutting off our road is going to stop the robberies, even though all the other roads are open....

I believe I have a legitimate complaint.  I had ankle surgery and having to walk those extra blocks to get out of here is making my life much harder. And I know many other people who are also finding life harder without this access to the other side of the street. I have seen mothers and fathers lifting their babies up over the fence. I have seen people older than I am, also climbing that fence. But now we can't even do that.

I never said I would do anything to try to take that fence down. Yet the person commenting was threatening me by saying that they have a record of me complaining on this blog. And I would be in trouble if I attempted to take it down.  So now do I no longer have a right to talk about it????   This person showed no compassion for me or anyone else who is having a hard time with this blocked road.

I will no longer post any more nasty comments from anyone who lacks compassion for the difficulties they have caused others by installing this fence and razor wire......  This is my blog. At least I still have some freedom in writing, if not in walking.....

  1. This may be the sign you need that it is time for you to live that dream you have been discussing -- to get on the bus and see Mexico. Who knows, you may even find a place to live where people put a higher stock in relationship than they do in their paranoia of protecting their Stuff. There is a big country out there that is beckoning you to know it better.

    1. Hi Steve, Glad you could finally get through. Yes, you may be right. But this is my home..... I hate to be forced out because of all their fears... Thanks for writing. p

  2. You know what they say. Opinions are like a**h***s. Everybody's got one. Apparently, La Floresta has at least one REALLY big one. And I don't mean opinion.

  3. Floresta is also a Mexican weekend and vacation place. It is has been their place for 60 years. Keep putting them down, now you know why they keep to themselves. You can complain, thats ok. When you mention cutting the wire, you raise a red flag.

    1. Apparently you do not take the time to read very carefully. If so, you would have seen that I have no intention of cutting that wire. And I have NEVER disrespected the Mexicans living here...... p

    3. Carrie,
If you have ever read Patricia's blog (or even took the time to actually read this and her last post) you would know that her blog has been basically a written shrine to her love of Mexico and the Mexican people. This post is also about how difficult it is for Mexican workers trying to get to their job in that area of La Floresta. It's very annoying to be reading a post and other's well-thought out comments, then come along a post of someone who is just reacting -- and reacting to something that isn't there. I beg of thoughtless, nonsense blatherers such as yourself: READ before you speak, so that you can write something that is relevant and rational.

    4. Thank you. I am very upset over these attacks and I really appreciate it when others understand what I am going through and what I have actually been saying.... p

    5. I agree with Steve. Time to move on, even if only temporarily. This situation is making you unhappy and you don't have to stay. Go explore Mexico. If I could, I would come with you. Just not untangled from my life here yet.

  4. I followed your blog while I was NOB and dreaming about my retirement. I enjoyed your snippets on life in MX and your love for this area. Now I'm retired and living in Ajijic. Please, try to overlook the fools and asses who would twist your words. There's too many wonderful people around here.
