I Love Sunday Afternoons By the Lake

Big party going on by the lake.

Do you think that is beer in his glass? Maybe that is why he is smiling.

Traffic jam at the slide.

I think Vino Blanco found a friend. We all need friends.

I know this photo is blurry but I put it in anyway. My neighbors' dogs. They look so peaceful.

Sunday is my favorite day of the week here in Ajijic because I get to be around all the Mexicans having fun. I took this same walk in the morning and very few people were out and about and in the afternoon it was crowded. One of the qualities I admire about Mexicans is their ability to enjoy life. Especially Sundays. That seems to be a big family day. I wish I had that much capacity for loving life in the moment.

  1. Hi Patricia,

I sent you an e-mail at your g-mail address that I got off one of your responses. Hope you got it.

Could you please e-mail me at ( laurelwi222@live.com)? I hope to be an Ahihhic resident within the next 2 years or less. I'm a semi-retired teacher who is also a dog-a-holic. We have much to talk about.

    Sincerely,
    Laurel Williams

  3. Hi Patricia

We finally made to Ajijic on Nov 1, We have been about on foot for the past week. Yesterday we stopped at the Mariscos Lety for dinner, the food was great. Maybe we will run into you and Chico on one of our walks.

  4. Hi Brenda, Yes, I hope to meet you while you are here. Tomorrow, Weds. at ten in the morning the Lake Chapala Society is having a book sale. I will be there. Looks like they have a lot of interesting books ready to put out. You know what I look like. I probably won't bring Chico since he won't keep still that long. Patricia

  5. Ahhhhhhhhhhh! So life goes on without me - in Ajijic as elsewhere!

ps: I am assembling a group of people who plan or desire to move to Chapala/Ajijic in the near future. Please respond @nopogayle@comcast.net. I live in Portland, OR. Perhaps we can pool our resources & figure out a good place to stay for 6 months until we figure out if this place is a good fit? Of course.. Patricia is our group 'reina'. And advisor. What do you think?

  6. Hi Gayle, I will keep my eyes and ears open for you. One of the things that always bothers me when I am leaving a place is hearing my friends making plans for after I am gone. It is that strange feeling of, Yes, life goes on without me. I am not irreplaceable. My life has as much impact on the world as a hand removed from a bucket of water. Patricia

  7. Here I am, most of the way through 2009 on my travels through your past in Ajijic. I already mentioned I'm thinking about living there, but this particular batch of pictures makes me want to jump a plane today. Well done, Patricia!
