My intention was to put on some photos from my son's last night's gig. But, unfortunately, my two photo programs aren't working. I am going to have to take my computer into the repair place. Maybe they will also be able to retrieve my 15,000 trashed photos.....
So, for a little while I won't be writing much on this blog. It is a blog about living in Mexico anyway and I am not there now. I am staying with my son and daughter-in-law in Portland. Have patience, I will starting blogging more once I am back in Mexico. I am starting to miss it. My return ticket is for July 26th.
Hi - You might try the "Geek Squad" at Best Buy. Hopefully, you can get all/most of your computer questions answered while you are NOB (north of the border). We'll miss your blog, but fully understand - and it is only 13 days until you head for home.
ReplyDeleteBe peaceful,
Your friend,
Pat
Hi Pat, Good to hear from you. Are you still in Mexico? Hope you are enjoying your summer. P
DeleteSadly, we are not in Mexico now - we returned home 6/29. We were home three days and then drove to southern Calif to see my #1 son's family (6 yr old grandson & 2 month old granddaughter). Tiring trip, but worth the experience. Now, in a couple of weeks my #2r son will be moving back from Singapore to the bay area. Need to dust off my grandmother hat. Two granddaughters will be in close visiting range in Berkeley.
DeleteHI Pat, Sounds like things are interesting for you right now.... Have fun with the granddaughters. Lucky you! P
DeleteWell, I like reading your thoughts and seeing your pictures no matter where you are! Hope you are able to get things fixed.
ReplyDeleteI am headed south this week, to Florida. It's hot here, but I am sure it will be hotter there. Hope you enjoy a great week, Pat.
Karen in VA
Hi Karen. Thanks for writing. Thanks for the compliment. Hope you have fun in Florida. I bet it is going to be hot there too. P
DeleteAgree with Pat, the geek squad at Best Buy can be really good at a reasonable price. If they can save your other photos it will be well worth the $150 or so if you can afford it.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your son, I look forward to continuing to read your blog when you return to Mexico.
Tammy
HI Tammy, Thanks for writing. Well, a 150 dollars isn't anything to sneeze at. Maybe I will rethink this plan. I may have to just dump them. P
DeleteIf you don't get your photos restored by the time you get back, you might want to contact someone at the LCS computer group. They have a MAC session, mostly women, and they all seem to me like a friendly bunch who would be glad to help you out. And if they can't do it, the Windows session would help you too just to "show off" MACs. Under the covers, they are all just computers after all. I believe Mike S. leads the group and they are on the LCS calendar.
ReplyDeleteJack in Portland
Thank you Jack. All is well in my computer world for now. I erased the program and started over. My photos are all stored on Picasso. So nothing was lost. It just took a lot of patience to figure it all out. I have more patience than money, so I did it. P
