Happy to be Alive |
My landlord has been home from the hospital for a few days now. He had a stroke and is paralyzed on one side. But his state of mind is upbeat and already he is standing and walking with a walker. It has been like one big party here every since he returned. He is a popular man in the community and people are coming all day long. Children play in the yard. Lots of food is being brought in. The first day that he was back, fifteen people came to visit him.
His son wanted him to return to Canada and check into the hospital there. My landlord refused. He said he would probably die if he did that. He wants to stay here and I think that is the best decision he could have made. He has two physical therapists coming in to help him. He has lots of help and friends surrounding him. This is the best place for him to heal. I am happy to see that he is progressing so quickly. Also happy that I am still alive to witness it and to enjoy the holiday season here. I hope everyone reading this has a wonderful holiday season too.
so happy that things turned out well for both of you. and how true that worrying is a waste of time, i know as i am a big worrier myself and rarely does anything that i worry about come true. btw-did you get some pix from me recently? they would have been titled "last 2 weeks activities" if not, i can resend them. take care pat and happy holidays to you to.
ReplyDeleteIs this Teresa? No name here so I don't know who write to me. But please resend the photos. Thanks, P

ReplyDeleteHi Brenda, Thank you for commenting. We have no idea of why my place flooded. I just hope it doesn't happen again. Yes, please come down. It is beautiful here. Get out of Texas. Thank you for your prayers. P
DeleteI am with you landlord on this issue. It is far better to live out your last days enjoying life instead of merely being maintained up north as if you were a failing jeep.
ReplyDeleteHi Steve, Thanks for commenting again. I had to laugh at that phrase, a failing jeep. P
DeleteSo glad you're ok! At my house, on Sunday, the washer went crazy, and we had about 50 gallons of water in the basement! But nowhere near as dangerous as what you went through. That is very odd that you don't know how/why! Be careful. And my best wishes to your landlord for a speedy and complete recovery.
