Happy Holidays to you All

It is already very sunny and warm outside. I went to the local grocery store for some food. I haven't put prices on the blog for a long time so I decided to do it this morning. Here is a photo of what I bought.

A chunk of fresh string cheese, two potatoes, three tomatoes, one Fresh bolillo (bread), six fresh eggs, a quart of milk, sour cream, five yoghurts, a banana and a box of cereal. The cost was 135 pesos which is six dollars and eighty cents today.  Is this close to the cost of groceries north of the border? It has been almost four years since I have been out of Mexico so I am out of touch with prices up there. I am just curious, wondering if I could afford to buy groceries up there. Not that I am considering moving. The Pit Bull problem has finally been solved and I am happy living here again.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

  2. Happy that you have resolved the pit bull problem. As to the cost of food, I would have to spend about $15 for similar items and some of them would have to be on sale. My neighborhood is considered reasonable. They would cost more in other parts of NYC. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Healthy New Year.

  3. Merry Christmas PAT. How was the dog issue resolved--hope the dog is also being taken care of and didn't lose his life.

You did good at the grocery store. I still value my Mexican Market Truck. He is less expensive than the American Grocery Store here. I wis he had Meat as well as the FRESH fruit and vegetables. And he comes right to my address.

I will send a photo of his truck. Looks just like a small Mexican Market Stall.

    1. Hi Larry, I am looking forward to the photo. My dog owner neighbor is on his second night of a continuous drunken loud party. I am about going out of my mind.... p

  5. Pretty sure the milk and cereal alone would be close to $6 here in "central" (not quite northern) VA.

    1. Hi Karen, Thank you for that information. My money wouldn't go very far up there now. The peso has just been devalued some and my money is worth even more here. Yesterday it was 19.72 to the dollar. Happy New Year to you. Thanks for keeping in touch all these years. P
