Sorry, I forgot to take a photo of the delicious food. I was too hungry to think about doing that. Hot dogs and hamburgers, potato salad and baked beans. It was delicious. It is every Sunday afternoon.
You really do live in Paradise! Love all these photos! I got on Forum for Lake Chapala recently and got good advice for the most part on it being affordable for me to live there. So now I'm also looking into Rosarito because it is so close to the US border...only 20 mins. away! That may be better for me than Lakeside, but I am still pulled to Lakeside so I'm not sure....Have to just come down and check it out for myself, as well as Rosarito and make my decision than. But your blog really still is the one I turn to every day to imagine myself living there. I think I can do it on 1200/mo. Someone on the blog complimented you for the way you have managed live the lifestyle you have when I mentioned I was following your blog and knew you receiving excellent advice from you. I'll be coming next year for a visit, so I hope we will be able to meet up when I come down! pam in Oregon
Hi again my friend Pam from Oregon. I have a friend who is going to Ensanada soon to investigate living there. She said she will report back to me. I will let you know what she says. See you in August? In Portland? p
When are you going to be here in August? I'll be gone to Maine from August 20th to the 26th than in MA from there through to Labor Day so hopefully we'll be able to hook up for lunch or something. Have you been to the gorgeous Coastline here in OR? I imagine you have since you lived in north of LA and your son is here in the Portland metro area. But if you haven't I would love to take you there for an afternoon while you're here if you can make it work. Or we could go to Hood River if you prefer anyway would be fun to take in the beauty of the summer while you're here if we can make something work out. Ensanada/Rosarito don't look any where near as lovely as Lakeside, but it is really so close to the US border that it may outweigh beautiful Lakeside making it well worth living there and it's on the ocean which would be awesome since I have always fantasized about beach living! i'd come sooner than jan. 2016 if I could but I wouldn't have enough SS benefits to afford it before that time. Plus I wouldn't move there without some cushion of money set aside for an emergency of any sort. I just have to say so far all the Expats on forums and things I've read on line it's obvious how friendly and welcoming everyone is. Makes it even more enticing for me! Can't wait to see you!
Pam it is! I'll be gone from Aug. 19th until Labor day so we must try to fit in a visit after I return. I will be working so I can't do anything during that week it would have to be the weekend and that is your last weekend before you go back so you may be busy with your son. Let me know and we can figure out an evening time to hook up perhaps instead of during the weekend if that's better for you. Pam in Oregon
