Morning Thoughts

Over the weekend I went to A Taste of Wellness workshop in Chapala. It was at the Monte Carlo hotel. That is a beautiful place. I will put on a few photos of it but if you are interesting in learning some facts about health, please read the article I wrote on Accesslakechapala.com.  Just go to that site and then to the blog section and it will come up.  I hope there will be more workshops in the future.

One extra thing that I have been doing for exercise is to jump over the fence on my street. For some reason they decided to block off my street. There is now a gate that is always closed so everyone, including children and old people like me has to jump over the fence. Tomorrow is my favorite day of the week, market day, but I am thinking it is going to now be my least favorite day. I will have to jump over the fence and then lift up all my groceries or else walk an extra six block around to the next entrance. There are many entrances to La Floresta and ours is the only one that is blocked. Go figure.

The other day I told Tammy that I had upped my walking by another four thousand steps. I am now wearing a pedometer all day long. She couldn't believe I had walked almost 7,000 steps that day and she asked me where I had walked. I felt a bit offended that she questioned the pedometer. But on thinking about it more, I hadn't walked very far at all. She had given me a ride up to the carretera so I wouldn' t have to jump over the fence with my gym bag and I didn't walk very far to the spa.

Yesterday I realized that when I am on the bus with my pedometer it is registering steps. Maybe it is all those bumps. But when I got off the bus it showed that I had walked over two thousand steps while on the bus...  Pedometers aren't very reliable.  Well, the weather is beautiful here now. I must remember the good things and forget about my resentments of the people who voted to block off my street. The extra six blocks of walking or climbing over the fence will add to my pedometer steps.

    1. HI Donna, Until today when I found out that not only are they blocking my street but all the streets in La Floresta except the one on the Carretara. Which means many many blocks for me to walk just to get in and out of here. Maybe I will have to move. p
