Trees in front of the house. |
I am trying to get used to this cold weather. I wear a jacket all the time, even in the house. Mexico, I miss your sunshine!
It is good to be with my family again. They leave for India in a week. I am hoping and praying that their trip will be good and they will all stay well. Every so often I think about taking a trip to India or Thailand or Bali. But then the thoughts disappear when I consider the twenty hours or so on the airplane. Something about that recycled air. It makes me sneeze. I thought I had a head cold by the time I got off the plane this time but by morning I was fine again. That was only a two and a half hour flight. I can't imagine what a twenty hour flight would do to me now. My back is so bad that I probably wouldn't even be able to walk after sitting so long.
So, the traveling thoughts quickly disappear. This January I need to be in Ajijic anyway because I am going to apply for permanent residency. I don't have to prove my income because I have been there a long time. It will cost me 800 dollars but after that I won't have to apply again. No more yearly paperwork and expense to be able to stay there.
I will return to Ajijic on December 4th. I hope to have another get together with people who are interested in visiting the lakeside area while I am here. Let me know if you would like to come. We will meet at the restaurant in Lake Oswego again.
Hi Patricia and welcome to Oregon! (I'm just up the road two and a half hours in Gig Harbor, WA.)
ReplyDeleteYes, it's cold here! And we had a terrific wind storm yesterday and power outage. I wish I was in sunny Mexico, too. : )
I love that you still write while you're in Oregon. Your thoughts and pictures are always so delightful to read - particularly when you pull no punches and are just yourself. Beautiful!
Hope you have a wonderful stay and don't get too cold. I'm in warm clothes as well - even though I'm snug in my house with the heat on.
And it's still officially fall. Winter hasn't even set in.....
Barbara
Hi Barbara, Thank you for the welcome. I appreciate your comment. And it isn't WINTER yet? How am I going to manage? P
DeleteHey, Patricia! You are talking yourself into being old. Stop it. Book a trip to Thailand or Chile or Uganda, and enjoy yourself. No one says our last days require us to surrender to the sedentary.
ReplyDeleteHi Steve, What would I do without your sense of humor? Thanks, P
DeleteHi Patricia. I'm nor quite sure how to respond to a blog as I've never done so before. I am in Longview, WA, though call Portland my home. I was in Ajijic in Sept. and am thinking of moving there. I would love to join you in Lake Oswego (date/time & place?) if there is room for one more. I sent you an email a few days ago and hope you got it. Hope to hear from you.

Hi Shai, If I didn't answer your e mail, then I didn't get it. Please send it again. I will post when we well be meeting. It may be a couple of weeks from now. Thanks for writing. P
DeleteYes Pat, I would love to meet with everyone again. I'm available most days/evenings. I know what you mean about being cold - it's what we deal with here in Portland during our wet winters. Acrylic sweaters keep me warm. Cotton & polyester blends are too cold. Fleece helps too. Hope to hear from you soon. Maybe you can convince Barb from Gig Harbor to drive down for the meeting.....
ReplyDeleteHI Donna, I am hoping to set it up for week end after this... I will put it on my blog. It will be good to see you again. Don't think Barb can make it. P
