Lunch at Cafe Magana

This morning I took the bus to the spa, swam an hour and ten minutes, walked back to the bus stop, took the bus and walked home and then walked back up to the bus stop, took the bus and had lunch at the Cafe Magana. By that time it was two thirty in the afternoon and I hadn't eaten all day.

So what did I order? See photo. A barbeque pork sandwich and onion rings. I told myself that I would only eat one, okay two, no three onion rings. I managed not to eat the bun but in the blink of an eye, ALL the onion rings were gone. Did I imagine I was someone other than myself? I know that I don't have control over onion rings, chocolate candy, chocolate chip cookies or carrot cake....

Did  I maybe think I was my mother? She had tremendous self control. Next time I must remember to eat something healthy long before I get to the point that I was at today when I made those onion rings disappear.  But I exchanged some books and movies. I am set up with bookies and movies until I go to the States....  So all in all, it was a productive day. Cafe Magana is one of my favorite restaurants. It is like having lunch in a library. I must forgive myself for my slips......

    1. Thank you. I don't think I could wait that long to eat. I am usually starving by noon. P

  2. Hi, With all of the swimming and walking, I think you needed those calories. It sure looks tasty! Pam

  3. I agree with Pam - with all the walking today & the swimming, I don't think your lunch was overdoing it. You need a pedometer. If you could see how far you walk in a week, you would go easier on yourself. No guilt. You are having fun....
I like Magana's too - the food is good and the owner is an interesting guy. He gave us his recipe for his cheesecake that last time we were there.

    1. Hi Pat, Sounds like a good idea. I think I have one of those around here somewhere. I like Jeff too. He can be very funny. Thanks for keeping in touch. p

  4. I love onion rings if they are cooked right, and judging from the pix, they are perfect. Strangely enough, I think onion rings are "healthier" than french fries (so I can justify my urges), but who knows?

    1. Hi Jack, Thanks for commenting. I doubt if either of those two things is very healthy. p
