Learning the Canon ELPH, Finally Reading the Instructions

Wow! Reading instructions really helps! Yesterday I was with my friend Jeanne and she took some great photos using her telephoto lense on her camera. I sat there confused. I didn't know if I even HAD a telephoto button on my new, expensive Cannon ELPH. So today, much against my nature, I sat and read part of the thick instruction booklet that came with the camera and I learned how to take photos at a distance. Now why hadn't I done that before? Then I would have had much better pictures from all the celebrations going on yesterday. Stubborn, I guess. Or lazy. I have no other explanation. Maybe confused and overwhelmed by all the bells and whistles on the new camera and on the new computer. As I have already said, I am being dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st Century. Maybe the next time I go to a celebration I will remember what I learned today. Thank you Alex for telling me to read the instructions...

  1. Pat...God has truely blessed you...You are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. May I ask that you write in your blog about how it is that you discovered such a paradise called Ajijic. I am curious and I am sure many others here are too. Did you ever consider any other parts of Mexico or other countries for retirement? What are your top 10 reasons for living in Ajijic? I am just curious and would love to hear in your own words why Mexico?

  2. Thank you for your e mail. I was feeling depressed this morning. I woke up with my knee, my wrist, my jaw and my banged up elbow, all hurting. I have to have the rest of a root canal this morning. Your comments made me put things into perspective. I could be living in the States! Yes, I will write something today after I get back from the dentist about how I found Ajijic. Patricia

  3. Pat...thanks for posting Your honest and sincere reasons for living in Ajijic. I already knew the answers to these questions. My mother who turned 67 years old this past week also moved to Ajijic over 4 and half years ago. You two are very similar in many ways. We, all six of her grown children and numerous grand children love to come and visit her in Ajijic. I often try to tease her and tell her that deep down inside she is lonely without us…and her answer to that statement is…Yes Son I live alone but I am not lonely! Never Lonely! Too much to do and see and you are absolutely right about the pictures the mountains, the fire red sunset skies, the lake the warmth of the Mexican people…we get those e-mail from Mom all the time. I have a picture of Chito the Mariachi singer singing with my daughter and me her old man at my 40th birthday party in Ajijic…I should e-mail this to you some time…Pat this is my wish to you and your family…May God always bless you and keep you in his hands and my you live a long and exciting life in Mexico and let the whole world know through your eyes/writing what haven on earth is really like. Shangri-La
