Sitting by the Lake with Chico

I am getting settled back into my own life now. I took Chico down to the lake and he sat on my lap for a long time. Dogs are so forgiving.  He is just happy to have me back home. Makes me think of a joke someone told me. I may have put this in a previous blog. If so, forgive me. I am forgetful and this has become a huge blog.  The joke is this: If you want to see who loves you more, put your dog and your mate into the trunk of your car. Leave them there for an hour and then come back and let them out. See which one is happy to see you.......

Well, enough of the old, worn out jokes. Here are some photos from the lake with Chico.

I found a cool place to sit under a tree

Returning Home Again

I am back to my little casita. For the first time since I started house sitting, I felt unhappy to be back when I woke up this morning. I saw a spectacular sunset from the house last night. I also fell in love with the sweet little dogs. After living for a week in a mansion with a private heated pool, it was hard to come back to these greatly reduced circumstances. But I will again get used to washing my dishes in the bathroom sink. Chico was unhappy to smell the other dogs on me. This morning he let me know. He pooped on my floor. I also found a dead scorpion on my floor. Oh well, life goes on...... I am home again. That is what is important. Here are photos of the sunset last night.

View from the Patio Last Night

Last night a huge storm came. I took these photos before it started. It was a beautiful night. I kept the curtains open so I could watch the lightening flash as I was going to sleep. What a night. I can't watch the storms from my little casita. I don't have a view. There are many advantages to having money.

This is a spectacular place but I am starting to get a little bored. I eat too much when I am alone. It is my way of trying to fill up the empty places inside. It never works. I just end up feeling guilty on top of feeling lonely. Guilty and fat.  I guess money isn't so important after all. For me, friendships trump money, every time. No, there is an exception: If I had to choose between having a friend to commiserate with while I am dying of hunger or have money to buy food and be alone and lonely, I would buy the food and be lonely and alive......

The Full Moon

I still haven't left this beautiful home but last night a friend came over and we spent a couple of hours gazing at the full moon and playing with the dogs. It was a beautiful night.
