An Evening at La Bodega with New Friends

I hadn't been out at night since I returned from my three months of house sitting. Guess I have just been too lazy. Watching a video on my computer was so much easier. But over the week end I met a wonderful couple, Bob and Brenda. They have been reading my blog for five months. They invited me out to dinner at La Bodega, Karaoke night. Bob's sister Patricia and her husband Ray also went out with us. They have all just been here for a couple of weeks and are returning to the States early in the morning. 

It was such a pleasure to meet them. I loved seeing two couples obviously still in love and happy after being married many years. Ray and Patricia are the dancing couple in the last photo below.

 It was also good to see my friends Caesar and Jose, the waiters. The next to the last photo is of Brenda and Bob. I felt like I was looking into a mirror when I was with Brenda. We could be sisters. I don't often meet women who look like me. She isn't sure she wants to move here, not just yet. She still has a SOP on the States. SOP is short for Sense of Purpose. I hope she decides to come here eventually. She feels like a sister in spirit. Sorry this post is all messed up. I don't know what happened to my formatting. I am glad I am going to see my son in the States soon so he can help me to get things back in order. I can't manage the photos or the writing at this point but I wanted to get this online. One of these days I will hopefully learn how to do this computer stuff. For now, I am just stumbling along in the dark. Thank you Bob and Brenda and Patricia and Ray for the memorable evening. Out to Eat Again, Breakfast in Chapala

I am never going to lose weight at this rate. Dale took us out to breakfast to the restaurant going into Chapala. Clare brought her best friend of many years, Katie. Katie recently moved down here. Another escapee from North of the Border. It stopped raining long enough for us to eat out on the patio. Excellent food. Thank you Dale!   Katie is in the next to the last photo. HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY EVERYONE

It is morning and it is raining outside. It feels like winter to me. I have no plans for the day. I did all my celebrating the past two days. I have to remember that down times are good and necessary. Life can't always be a party! I have a couple of interesting books to read and a video to watch. Chico keeps coming and going. When he comes, he is wet and he jumps on the bed. I have had to put towels down for him. Now I understand why so many people leave here during this time of year. I checked the weather and rain and thunderstorms are predicted for the rest of the week. Since I don't have a car, I am pretty much stuck in my casita. I am so happy that I am going to the States on Friday! I hear that it is Summer up there. It feels like Winter here. Okay, that is enough complaining. I know the rain is important. Without it, we wouldn't have these beautiful green hills and all these flowers. I guess I am just spoiled. It has been nice weather here for months. But from now on I am planning all my visits to the States during this time of year. Happy Fourth of July.....

Second Day of the Sale at LCS

Above is a photo of a couple I met today, Bob and Brenda. They recognized me from my blog. That is always fun. They are visiting from Virginia.  They said they thought they recognized the places I had been photographing. Of course, they are staying across the street from my casita. They invited me out to dinner on Monday. Lucky me. They also recognized Dale and Emily from the blog. Dale says he feels like a famous person now. I met two couples today, readers of my blog. I feel famous too.  Fortunately, it didn't rain today so the sale was a great success.I spent too much money. I have to stay away from yard sales, especially down here. High prices.  Dale and Emily and I had subway sandwiches, hamburgers and homemade ice cream. It was all delicious. Thank you Dale for the lunch.

Potluck at the Raquet Club and Visiting Stacey's House

At five in the evening yesterday, Stacey and I left the performances at the restaurant. We missed the Folkloric Dancers but we were starving. She had already arranged for us to go to a potluck at the Raquet Club. The first six photos were taken there and the last photos were taken at Stacey's house. She brought that hat back from Mazatlan. She recently returned from a short trip to the States. She is happy to be back in Mexico. That's why she is smiling. There is no place like home even if it IS in a mansion.
