Monday in Chapala

The Lirios plants are taking over the lake in the Chapala area too.





I took the above photo in the area where the stalls are by the lake in Chapala. You can see how crowded it was over the week end. Some kind of three day holiday. I can't keep up with all the holidays here.




One young girl was brave, or foolish, enough to swim among all the Lirios.
They are trying to get rid of the Lirios by shoveling it into a truck. Seems like a losing occupation. There are so many plants and they grow rapidly. One week there are no plants and the next week the lake is full of them. Someone told me that the plant was imported here by a man from England. He thought it was beautiful. Too bad the plant just took over. I bet those poor men shoveling up with all the plants would curse that man if he were were still alive and around to see what he started.










I had a good time in Chapala on Monday. It was like one huge party. Many families were out, enjoying their three day week end. The weather was beautiful. I took a lot of photos.

Sunday Evening Walk along the Lake

I have never seen so many people down by the lake as I did this evening. It was quiet in my neighborhood so I was surprised to see all the action. Lots of noise and parties. People out having fun. I had been feeling kind of lonely. It cheered me up to be around so many happy people.

Sunday Back Home in Ajijic

I have only been away from the lake for two weeks and during that time all these Lirios plants have grown. They are starting to take over the lake. The birds seem to like it but I don't see anyone out in the lake now. It is not good. I don't know how they plan to remove all these plants.

This tree is on the way to my house from the Real de Chapala Hotel. The rain has done wonders for all the plants here. I have been house sitting for two weeks. It is good to be back to my little Casita. There is no place like home... Especially to be with Chico again.

La Cocinita Restaurant in San Antonio

I just discovered La Cocinita Restaurant. It is down the street from El Parque where I am now housesitting. I am going to be eating there often. I think it is family owned and operated. They are very friendly. The place is spotless. The food is delicious and inexpensive. Almost everything is forty pesos or less. It is open from seven in the morning until five in the evening. It is closed on Sundays. I love this restaurant.

San Antonio and El Parque

I took the above photo where I am house sitting now, El Parque. They have a nice pool but it is being repaired. Maybe I can use it tomorrow.
