A Walk in the San Antonio Area

Yesterday I was well enough to take a bus ride and then a short walk in the San Antonio area. I found a small yard sale and bought some Avon perfume, unused. I also had lunch at Mom's Deli, a delicious Gazpacho Soup. What a treat. Mom's also has a book exchange so I was able to trade a few books. It was a nice morning and NO sickness. Maybe it is over now and I can go on with my life. Hope so.

There are many little outdoor food stalls in this area but for now I am passing them up. Since it is so hot, I am concerned about getting sick again. I have to stick to the sit down indoor restaurants......

Lake Chapala Society in the Morning

Ajijic in the Morning

I managed to take a walk to the Lake Chapala Society this morning. It was very quiet in town. It is going to be another hot day.

Still Not Well

I had to drag myself to the market this morning in order to have food for the rest of the week. I went to the doctor two days ago and he gave me three prescriptions. Some kind of stomach virus or bacteria. I don't know what it is. All I know is that I have been terribly sick and depressed. I hate having to stay in the house for so long. It is now 18 days.

I ran into some friends in the market and they all had stories about their own bouts with this kind of sickness. Seems like it runs about a month. WOW. Don't know if I can take another two weeks of this. But I am getting better, now that I have some medicine for it. For me, the depression is the hardest thing to deal with right now. Having to either read or watch television all day long is not my idea of a fun time. I need to get out and walk or swim but it is still too soon for me to try it. I guess this is just a downside of living in Mexico. Sometimes strange things attack your system.

It could happen anywhere. Once this happened to me in Las Vegas. Ruined the trip for everyone involved. I don't know the cause. The water? Something I ate? Have no idea. I talked with Anita at Anita's animal shelter booth. She believes it is the heat. She said many of her animals are getting sick now in the heat. She believes that once the rains come, things will be better for all of us. So, I have no answers. I am just waiting it out until I am well again and can go on with my life. Thanks for your patience. I know I have lost some readers. I have nothing interesting to write about at the moment. I must remember, Patience is a virtue. I have always been short on that virtue, among many others.   I just tailspin into depression, thinking my life will NEVER get better. I should have learned something after all those months of healing from my broken ankle. Things change.
